IPv6
IPv6
For years, the Internet Protocol has been updated and “revised”. As of present time, the Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) is still the dominant protocol of the Internet, although there actually is a much more updated IP version, which is Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6). IPv6 has been introduced worldwide, but it still is in its infancy in terms of general world deployment. In other words, its penetration in the world wide web is still less than 1% of internet traffic per country.
The reason behind IPv6's “unpopularity” is the inappropriate (and incomplete) introduction it received. We've established this site to help introduce IPv6 and why it is considered by a lot of internet experts as the perfect solution for the the IPv4 addresses exhaustion problem (which is by the way, presently plaguing the world of computers and internet). Please feel free to read all the articles about IPv6 that we've published in this site and find out why you should definitely opt to use IPv6 over the traditional IPv4.
Generally, why should one choose IPv6 over the traditional IPv4? It's an improved version of the IPv4. Aside from being able to give out more available IP addresses, IPv6 also offers stateless address auto-configuration and increased network security.
